What’s A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life about?

A self-help addict unwittingly embarks on a road trip of violent self discovery with her unhinged new life coach.

30-something, self-help addict, Lou Farnt (Katie Brayben) wants nothing more than to escape her overly controlling mother and the dead-end seaside town where she grew up. When strange and strikingly confident new life coach Val (Poppy Roe) invites Lou on a road trip of alternative therapies, Lou finds the perfect opportunity to leave, and the perfect person to become. Unfortunately for Lou, Val’s  a serial killer.

Who’s making it and who’s in it?

Forward Motion Pictures is the award winning production company behind A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life - it’s run by husband & wife team Poppy Roe and Staten Cousins Roe.  There’s more about Forward Motion at www.forwardmotionpictures.co.uk

As well as Poppy Roe playing Val, the brilliant cast includes Olivier award winner Katie Brayben as self help addict Lou Farnt, Katie was also instrumental in our successful Kickstarter campaign, which you can see the video for above. We also have Ben Lloyd -Hughes (Divergent, Insurgent) Sian Clifford (Fleabag 1 & 2), Sinead Matthews (Kaleidoscope), Tomiwa Edun (Discovery of Witches), Fiona Glascott (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald) and Sarah Ball (This Way Out) among a host of others. For the entire cast and crew visit IMDB here.

What else?

A Serial Killer's Guide to Life has a gender-balanced cast and crew, with a goal of a minimum 50% female representation both in front and behind the camera, which we achieved.

The film screened as part of the Edinburgh International Film festival’s ‘Work in Progress’ spotlight in 2018 and will see its World Premiere and release worldwide later in 2019.
